I spent this week at FarmLinks hosting two groups for my brethren up North.
The first group was from Wisconsin and the U.P. of
Michigan hosted by the Reinders Toro equipment group. After the presentation, we had a frank discussion about Curalan going to agency and the new package size. All of the feedback was not good, but that’s okay and that’s another benefit of bringing superintendents to FarmLinks. The FarmLinks setting really opens up the communication for most folks. This visit also told me we have some legit interest in the Emerald First program and Insignia from this group. One guy felt like he had been mis-diagnosing PRD as take-all after hearing my presentation. Insignia will be in there. Another said he’s going to try Emerald first. Also, Trinity on anthracnose got some interest.
The next group was from the
Cleveland area. They were hosted by Glenn Omori of Harrells Turf Specialties. As expected, they wanted to know more about Trinity and the issues we saw when it was combined with PGRs on some very hot days last year. Glenn had already done a good job of explaining the situation to this group as he, Jerry and Bob Figurella worked closely this summer. After that, Emerald First and Last generated some good discussions with lots of Bayleton comparison discussions. Insignia was another one that created some more interest over Heritage.
