Congratulations, Danielle—the new bride!
Saturday, October 4th was our youngest daughter and son-in-law's wedding. It was an outdoor wedding with the reception taking place in a real nice, very large tent near the wedding location.
Danielle is my step-daughter; my wife and I wed 19 years ago when Danielle was only 3-years-old. Danielle and I have been very close all through her childhood and adult life. Due to this close relationship, Danielle arranged for both her father and I to walk her down the aisle. Danielle also arranged a special dance for the both of us, in addition to her father. I have attached a picture of the two dads walking Danielle down the aisle.
I was very touched that she included me in all the details of the wedding. Our daughter Natalie sang at the wedding and sounded awesome. The weather and entire day was awesome. We had 240 guests in attendance.
Weather from Hurricane Ike affected Central Ohio
Central Ohio experienced high winds and power outages from Hurricane Ike. This was an event never before recorded in weather history in Central Ohio. Electricity was not restored in some areas until one week after the weather event. Power Lines were down, transformers destroyed, high volumes of trees down, flooding, buildings damaged and destroyed, etc. This season is summarized by rain, heat, high and low humidity, cold extremes, drought and winds.
Turf disease activity in Ohio
There is quite a bit of active dollar spot pressure which in some cases is not being addressed. Early pink snow mold and dollar spot applications are being applied in the Northern areas of the territory. This will be followed up in late October to early-to-mid November with a more complete application to provide snow mold control through the winter months.
I have been working to introduce customers to the cost savings benefits of the BASF 2009 Early Order Program and reviewing current and new technical information for products.
Golf Course Superintendents enjoy FarmLinks' education and Talladega
We had a good group of golf course superintendent guests at FarmLinks for The Experience and a Talladega Race Event this past weekend. I could not attend due to our daughter's wedding.
Many thanks to Brian Thompson and other BASF personnel who assisted in making this group feel welcome.
