BASF quizzes trade editors in Turf Jeopardy for charity at Golf Industry Show

If you read Golfdom, Golf Course Industry or Golf Course Management, you won't want to miss seeing your favorite turf editors match wits for the title of Turf Media Jeopardy Champion!

A special round of Turf Jeopardy is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Friday featuring industry editors playing for a total of $3,000 to the following charities of their choice:

larry-pic.jpgLarry Aylward of Golfdom — Cleveland Food Bank: Aylward said he was struck by the overwhelming amount of families turning to his church's food pantry for help feeding their families. Aylward will play for funds to benefit the Cleveland Food Bank, which he hopes can provide a greater reach to Cleveland-area neighbors in need during this difficult economy.

john-pic.jpgJohn Walsh of Golf Course Industry — The Ohio State University Karl Danneberger Turfgrass Science Endowment: Walsh said he wanted to play on behalf of the turfgrass program at Ohio State to support local education and the turf industry. The Karl Danneberger Endowment funds undergraduate Turfgrass Science club activities, travel for students to attend professional meetings or field trips, and other important program activities.

seth-pic.jpgSeth Jones of Golf Course Management — Sickle Cell Disease Association of America (SCDAA) - Kansas Chapter: Jones is playing in memory of his friend and turf industry peer, John Vincent Wake, who died unexpectedly Monday, May 26, 2003, at the age of 32. Jones founded a fundraising event in his honor, the John Wake Laugh Olympics, which also raises funds for the SCDAA- Kansas Chapter.

Great causes, all – come watch all three editors try their hand at BASF Turf Jeopardy!
