Helping golf course superintendents create preemergent Naturalized Area programs
kart.jpgI had a great visit with Frank Tichenor at Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. We covered most of the entire 95-year-old course and looked at where he has significant naturalized areas where he wants “junk” controlled. They even got to hit some golf balls from the fairway that some members were practicing from—with their clubs. We spent lunch-time working on a program with his assistants present. I recommended they start with some of the products left over in his newly constructed, heated storage facility. Unfortunately these are not BASF preemergent products, but it will give him opportunity to deplete stock.

Congrats to Morgan on her college graduation!
grad.jpgWell my wife and I survived 90 family and friends over on Saturday to celebrate my youngest daughter, Morgan’s, college graduation. A great time was had by all but way too much work putting the house back together on Sunday.

Great Northern PA Turf Conference, but not so great travel weather
weather.jpgTraveled to Wilkes-Barre, Penn., for the Northeastern PA Turf Conference and Tradeshow. Travelling there was not a problem, but travelling back last night was a different story after snowing on and off for most of the day. Fun! Fun! Anyhow, traffic was okay as I’m sure hampered by weather. Next week is my first trip of 2010 to the walled city of Pittsburgh.

Have a great weekend. Notice I didn’t say a word about weather.
