Proven Disease Control and Plant Health Benefits
In the last few years turf professionals have heard the words “plant health” used to describe any number of chemical or cultural effects on turfgrass and it can be hard to tell what is a real benefit to the plant and what is simply cosmetic.
Today BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals brings clarity to plant health with the launch of its Intrinsic™ brand fungicides; Honor® Intrinsic brand fungicide and Insignia® SC Intrinsic brand fungicide, into the golf turfgrass market. Both Honor Intrinsic and Insignia SC Intrinsic are labeled for disease control and plant health benefits and Intrinsic is the BASF umbrella brand for all products labeled for plant health in the turf & ornamentals markets.
BASF has researched the plant health effects of pyraclostrobin, the active ingredient in both Honor Intrinsic and Insignia SC Intrinsic fungicides, in crops for more than 10 years and in turf and ornamentals for more than three years. Our findings show that pyraclostrobin enhances many physiological processes in a plant. So while the chemical treats the turf and plants for disease, it also primes the plant’s immune system, resulting in more efficient growth and photosynthesis, as well as increased tolerance to stress.
Intrinsic brand fungicides improve plant health, not just through superior, broad spectrum control of fungal diseases, but also through improved tolerance to stress and increased efficiency of plant processes. Research shows Intrinsic brand fungicides enable turf to better withstand disease and environmental stresses including drought, moisture, and temperature extremes, as well as mechanical stresses such as aerification.
Honor Intrinsic and Insignia SC Intrinsic brand fungicides are on sale October 1. Learn more by watching the video and by visiting www.IntrinsicPlantHealth.com.
