Pest management product education events underway for distributor partners and customers
This is the time of year that distribution has end user meetings to train and educate. This starts in the Pacific Northwest (PNW), and finishes in Nor Cal in March. Some highlights so far from the month of January include doing educational talks in Spokane, Pasco, Richland, Seattle, Wenatchee, Portland, and Oregon City. I always look forward to talking to these groups from all around the PNW. I was able to train lawn care operators, golf course superintendents, vegetation management specialists, greenhouse managers and nursery growers.
Helping customers learn about BASF fungicide and herbicide benefits
This year I was able to educate these customers on Intrinsic™ brand fungicides: Insignia® SC Intrinsic brand fungicide and Honor® Intrinsic brand fungicide, our new total release products: Mozart™ TR fungicide and Beethoven™ TR miticide/insecticide, our superior line of herbicides, and I always finish my presentations with Pendulum® AquaCap™ herbicide for mulched areas. If I can train every person I talk to about how good Pendulum AquaCap is for all types of mulched areas, I feel they will be a BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals customer for a long time.
Pre-emergent and post-emergent weed control
I am always amazed that I get the most questions about how and what we recommend for a great pre-emergent strategy. This is from long-time turf managers, nursery managers and new customers in the market. We offer a great post and pre herbicide strategy for all our customers. Fred Eckert and I adopted this strategy earlier in my BASF career, and it has done very well for the West Coast BASF sales guys, and oh yeah Todd B. has been instrumental in getting the data we need to make the sale! Thanks Fred and Todd.
