As the turfgrass management season is coming into full swing, relive some stress and laugh with your fellow turfgrass management professionals! Everyone makes mistakes. And many are, often in hindsight, laughable. Perhaps you mowed the wrong yard or accidently applied glyphosate to a fairway when you meant to apply selective herbicide.

The trade show season is in full swing for the turfgrass industry, and many turf professionals wait all year for these events. With the largest golf and landscape industry shows behind us and the cold weather still lingering, many turfgrass professionals are attending various local and national tradeshows to stay abreast of the latest trends.

2013 Golf Industry Show Wrap-Up

A sincere “thank you” to our customers and industry partners who visited with the BASF team and participated in our booth activities during #GIS13. We were pleased with the successful turnout for the GCSAA Golf Industry Show in San Diego. Numerous superintendents, distributors and partners joined us in the booth to meet with BASF representatives and learn about Intrinsic brand fungicides.

2013 BASF Turf GIS Activity Recap

Twenty-five superintendents signed up to receive a sample of Pylex^TM herbicide, BASF’s newest post-emergent.
120 golf course superintendents received signed-copies of Dr. Bert McCarty’s, “Diagnosing Turfgrass Problems: A Practical Guide” and Dr. Pat Vittum’s “Turfgrass Insects of the U.S. and Canada.”
Golf course superintendents won a combined total of $8,350 in cash gift cards playing BASF Superintendent Pyramid in our booth.
Five golf industry media and their colleagues raised a combined total of $7,950 for charities of their choice playing BASF Superintendent Pyramid: Media for Charity round.

In the final hours of #GIS13, your favorite publications won big for charity

Playing off the popular trivia game enjoyed by superintendents throughout the show, the “Superintendent Pyramid: Media for Charity” round gave industry editors a chance to compete on behalf of their charity-of-choice.

Day Two of #GIS13 Means $3,050 in Prizes for Booth 2426 Visitors

In the final round of Superintendent Pyramid, BASF gave away $3,050 in cash gift cards to trivia-savvy superintendents, for a grand #GIS13 running total of $8,350.

Superintendents bring home another $3,000 in prizes, plus signed Pat Vittum book
BASF gave away a combined $3,000 to five golf course superintendents in cash gift cards at the BASF Superintendent Pyramid game show this afternoon at GIS. A special thanks to all who participated!

Sixty lucky supers also met Pat Vittum and received an autographed copy of her acclaimed “Turfgrass Insects of the U.S. and Canada,” compliments of BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals.

GIS has officially begun, and already the BASF booth is full of action.

Sixty golf course superintendents lined up to meet author Bert McCarty, Ph.D., and received a signed copy of his book, “Diagnosing Turfgrass Problems: A Practical Guide,” compliments of BASF Professional Turf & Ornamentals during the Golf Industry Show in San Diego, Calif.

Immediately following the book signing, four superintendents won a combined total of $2,300 at booth 2426. Paired with their BASF reps, these savvy supers answered golf course-related trivia to win cash gift cards at the BASF Superintendent Pyramid game show. Thanks to all those who joined!
